Description |
| Fontastic! |
An awesome European site that provides hundreds of beautiful
freeware and shareware Windows TrueType fonts for downloading. This site
began operating in late 1996 and is one of the largest font repositories
in the world. A must-see! |
| Chank
Fonts |
What can be said about this site that hasn't been said already? Chank
Fonts is worth visiting whether you download any of their extensive hand-crafted
range of fonts or not. A wide assortment of fonts are available here
for both Windows and Mac users. Chank Diesel? Legendary! |
Larabie
Fonts |
Every so often - usually when there's nothing on TV - Ray Larabie
creates a new Windows TrueType freeware font and posts it to the Web for
downloading just to prove it can be done. Contrary to what you might expect,
most of the fonts he creates are high quality and very useful. 20,000 people
visit this site every month. It's worth seeing. |
FontHead
Design |
FontHead are a professional type design studio. They offer visitors
several brilliantly whimsical Windows TrueType and Macintosh freeware fonts,
including Good Dog (in three varieties), Holstein and
Spillmilk. We love these fonts and you probably will too! FontHead
Design's commercial fonts are equally attractive and very economically priced
(around $US3 each). |
| Surface
Type |
Another professional type design studio that offer seven useful Windows
TrueType and Macintosh type faces as freeware downloads: Acidic, Bountiful,
Bounty, Gouge, Ozlo and Slurry. If you visit the home page there's
usually a bonus font available there as well. |
NonDairy
Fonts |
A third professional type design studio who offer two whimsical freeware
fonts to visitors in both Windows TrueType and Macintosh formats. You can
obtain their other four commercial fonts for a slim $US10. |
Microsoft
Web Fonts |
Microsoft have done very little that's good for the Net - but
one thing we can applaud is their attempt to make several fonts into
global Internet standards. If you want to code fonts into your HTML and be
reasonably certain most viewers will have them on their machines, these fonts
are the safest ones to use. Best of all, they're completely free - but you'll
need to search Microsoft's site to find them...(our tip: try their Downloads
section) |
