Web Graphics Software
Companies

There are a lot of graphics software companies on the Internet, and more seem to appear every year. This has made the pressure so intense on the market leaders that many now offer trialware versions of their software (something unheard-of before the Net!). And fully-registered products now cost only a fraction of what they once used to just a few years ago.

Windows has also assumed an increasingly dominant position in the graphics market as Apple has struggled from one disaster to another. These days - in contrast to the position just a few years ago - it's hard to find a Mac-only software company. Most of the market leaders now cover both platforms. And many smaller companies - seeing where their bread is most heavily buttered - have gone 100% WinTel.

Many of the tools produced by the companies listed here are best used by professional web developers who need to generate lots of sites quickly. However, budding amateurs can have just as much fun with some of them - and many of these products are fun! So don't be shy about exploring.
